Photographic Biography
Wildlife photography has been a growing passion of mine since the Summer of 2007. I have always loved animals and beauty and then I had a chance meeting with a large community of beavers just outside of Prince George, BC. They inspired me to very impulsively buy a digital SLR camera with a telephoto lens so I could really see them. I was immediately moved by this new way of really seeing the natural world and my love affair with wildlife photography has grown from that day forward.
One of my inspirational Beavers from July 2007!
The majority of my pictures are taken around the Greater
Vancouver area and are of birds and animals that people see often in their daily travels but seldom really "see". There is a whole world of beauty and intrigue going on right in our local neighbourhoods which is what I try to capture and share. I hope that seeing these animals "up close and personal" will help raise awareness for their appreciation, conservation and preservation.
I also make regular trips out of the Lower Mainland to capture the wildlife of the Pacific Coast, Rocky and Cascade Mountain
Ranges as well as Northern British Columbia. I consider myself very lucky to live in British Columbia, Canada which has an amazing abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. A person could very happily spend a lifetime trying to capture it all!
